On a sunny Saturday afternoon, the aroma of barbecue wafted through the air as the Smith family prepared for their long-awaited backyard gathering. It was a special occasion, bringing together friends and loved ones for an afternoon of laughter, good company, and, of course, delicious food.
As the grill sizzled with anticipation, Mr. Smith, the family’s resident grill master, carefully seasoned the short ribs with coarsely ground black pepper and kosher salt, infusing them with flavor before placing them over the flames to cook low and slow.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Smith worked her magic in the kitchen, crafting a delectable sauce that would elevate the short ribs to new heights of flavor. She sautéed onions, garlic, and ginger until they were fragrant and golden, then added a blend of spices, including cumin and a whole chili, to create a rich, aromatic base.
To sweeten the sauce without compromising their commitment to the keto lifestyle, Mrs. Smith reached for Swerve brown sweetener and Lakanto sweetener, adding a hint of sweetness that would balance the bold flavors of the spices.
Next, she stirred in Completely Keto homemade ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and beef stock, allowing the sauce to simmer and thicken into a luscious glaze that would coat the short ribs with irresistible flavor.
As the short ribs cooked to perfection on the grill, the Smith children eagerly helped prepare the onion garnish, slicing onions and coating them in almond flour before frying them to a crispy golden brown in avocado oil.
Finally, the moment arrived to assemble the barbecue short rib sliders. Mr. Smith carefully nestled tender pieces of short rib between small Fox Hill Kitchens mini buns, generously drizzling each one with the homemade sauce and topping them with a handful of crispy fried onions.
As the first bite was taken, smiles spread across the faces of the Smith family and their guests, who savored the irresistible combination of tender short ribs, tangy barbecue sauce, and crunchy onion garnish. It was a barbecue to remember, filled with laughter, love, and the joy of sharing delicious food with the ones they held dear.
