Ingredients

  • 1 Lb asparagus 1 bunch
  • 2 Tbs olive oil
  • 5 Cloves garlic
  • 1 Tsp black pepper
  • 1 Tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 lemon optional: to squeeze on top

Instructions

  1. Turn broiler on to a low setting
  2. Wash, trim ends, and place asparagus in an oven safe broiler pan
  3. Peel and cut garlic into thin slices
  4. Spread over asparagus
  5. Drizzle olive oil evenly over asparagus
  6. Sprinkle salt and pepper
  7. Using tongs lift and mix asparagus gently, allowing the flavors to marinate evenly
  8. Place in middle of oven to avoid burning them, and allow to cook for about 5 minutes or until desired grilled color is reached

This method gives the asparagus, the right texture and flavor, yet neutral enough to serve as a side with almost any main dish.
